7 Days Self Drive Road Trip in Southern Iceland – Day 6

Day 6 – Blue Lagoon > Reyjavik > Harpa Concert Hall and Conference > Keflavik > Skessuhellir (giantess cave) > Bergas Guesthouse

Day 6 was planned in accordance with our direction to head back Keflavik for our departure on the last day. Right after checked out from Silica Hotel, we started heading north back to the capital, Reyjavik. First place that we stopped for the day is the Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre. You will not miss this if you are somewhere nearby the Sun Voyager (Viking ship steel sculpture beside the sea). It is a striking building with its unique architecture just like a glass made honeycomb. The structure consists of a steel framework clad with geometric shaped glass panels of different colors. So if you are inside the building, you will enjoy the color vibrant reflected from the sun outside, brilliant design.

7 Days Self Drive Road Trip in Southern Iceland – Day 5

Day 5 – Vik > Solheimasandur (plane wreck) > Blue Lagoon > Silica Hotel

Day 5 we had very lean itinerary as well, mainly is to change our accommodation again, back to somewhere nearer to Reyjavik town for our easy departure on last day. Nevertheless, it was one of our highlight day as well because we were visiting two of the renowned “must go” in Iceland, the Sólheimasandur (plane wreck) and the Blue Lagoon!
Off we go leaving the cozy guesthouse behind, driving our way to the Blue Lagoon direction and while we are still on the coastline road, we stop by the location to visit the plane wreck.
